| RM746
and RM756 Rack Mount Kits
In this series we introduce our latest design. Different from other
designs in that the rack tray is made of 16 gauge Paintlok Steel
(a common electro-plated finish used in computers, radios, VCRs,
sound systems, etc). The front panel has handles, is made from .125"
aluminum, and is painted with a baked finish in our regular dark
olive brown color.
The
Icom 746 and 756 radios are larger & heavier than the smaller
receivers than we have been working with in the past. Installation
is simple, the tray is installed in the rack cabinet using the six
furnished 10-32 black Allen head screws (Allen wrench is also included).
Next the radio’s front feet are easily removed buy unscrewing
two small screw. The radio is slid into place from the front until
the rear feet line up with holes at the rear for the tray. If one
wishes to secure the radio to the tray, there are three screws across
the rear of the radio that can be removed, then re- installed from
the underside of the tray.
Once the tray and radio are installed, the front panel is simply
laid over the radio and secured with the four furnished 10-32 chrome
plated screws.
We have added a new feature to the RM746 rack mount. Many users
expressed an interest to have their PS125
power supply mounted next to their 746 and have the supply showing
on thru the front panel. This is our model RM746ps. If you want a
speaker model becomes RM746s and the supply is set back about 2".
Another RM746 model is without a speaker, it's model RM746wos and
has room for the power supply like the RM746s.
